The 21st Century Doors:
      Harley-Davidson Open Road Tour
California Speedway, Fontana, CA
September 6, 2002

by Jill King

The most exciting event of last year was seeing The Doors play in concert last year. I have been a huge Doors fan since I was in highschool; which for me was about 11 years ago.

In fact 2 years ago I went to Paris, France to visit Jim Morrison's grave site and have gone to Jonn Densmore's poetry ready. I took my dad with me to these concerts since he also was a big fan. We were about 7 rows up from the stage. I had never seen my Dad go so wild with excitement and happiness in all my life. My heart was pounding with exilleration and I had butterflies in my stomach because for me this was my dream come true. My Dad and I saw then play at the Fontana Raceway, In Orange County, and later in LA. The LA show was by far the most outragous and fun show I had ever been too. During the last song Ian Astbury had every one getting on stage and the people just kept coming and coming and the band just kept playing on. My Dad and I were so close and people behind and in front of us were all running on stage but when my Dad wanted to lift me up on stage and go up there ... I chickened out; and have regretted it from then on because It was a big event in my lifetime.
