The 21st Century Doors:
The Scene Pavilion,
Cleveland, OH
June 21, 2003

by Amanda in Ohio

A fellow co-worker, her son, (who as well as I, is early twenty-something), and I went to see The 21st Century Doors at Nautica Stage in Cleveland.

I had my reservations about how the songs would sound with Ian Astbury.  We all love the Doors, but they are big Cult fans, so all of us were anxious to see them perform together.  What a show, down on the river with the Doors!  Blew my mind, they sounded so good I could barely stand it.

Robby, Ray and Ian were rocking it out, as people on boats traveled through the harbor.  Not only did the old songs sound good, I was thoroughly impressed with some of the new songs they played.  I can only hope and pray that I will have the fortune of seeing them in concert again.  Not only was it a true gem for any Doors fan, but I borrowed some Cult cds to listen to.  I know others who are die-hard Doors fans, but wouldn't go because it wasn't Jim singing.  Well I for one am not an idiot, and would never miss such a spectacular treat...now if only John would join up...either way I would definitley recommend this show!
