The 21st Century Doors:
Sound Advise Theater,
West Palm Beach, FL
May 24, 2003

by Roseann P.

I went to the May concert in West Palm Beach, Fl. I was familiar with some Doors radio played music but wasn't a big fan. I was born in 1967 when their careers were just taking off. The movie in 1991 got me interested in The Doors but not a lot. I thought Val Kilmer was great.

My husband's friends had tickets to the concert and couldn't go so they offered to sell them to us. When he asked me if I wanted to go I thought "hmmm.. why not?". Well, I have to tell you that night was a life changing experience for me. I haven't been the same since. I HAVE DOORS FEVER! I know that sounds corny but it is true. That night when I heard the first song I stood up, started dancing and never sat down the whole evening. It was as if I was in a trance. Ian sounded similar to Jim most of the concert which was great. The band sounded great and the images and videos displayed on screen really went well together. The music lit a fire inside of me like no other. I can only image the magic that was created when Jim hit the stage! At the end of the concert people were allowed to jump on stage to dance with the band - I was too shy then to do so. But now I wish I would have.

I listen to The Doors music all the time now and proudly display a Doors window decal on my car. Since most of the songs were new to me, it was fun discovering them for the first time. I have read now four books and have collected most of what is out there. I plan of course to read everything that I have bought. I talk about The Doors and Jim to people whenever I can inject it into conversations. Most people just only know what media hype was laid on him. I really see now why Jim said that "The Doors are the band people love to hate". I just wanted to say I love The Doors and THANK YOU FOR TOURING! Too bad John has to be so negative about it. I hope everything turns out to Ray and Robby's advantage concerning the court case.
