1967 The Doors First Promo Poster
(19" x 28") ORIGINAL 1st and only edition poster. The one pictured was one I had several years ago: it was framed - this one is not. This poster was printed by Elektra in early 1967 and used to promote The Doors first album. This famous poster can be seen on the cover of The Doors second album Strange Days. The photo done by Brodsky was also used on their first 45 picture sleeve of 'Break On Through'. I've only seen 3 copies of this rare poster in 14 years - it is mega-rare!! (22-1/2" x 27-1/2") This large hard to find commercial release was put out by the Satori Productions, Santa Monica, CA and is dated on the bottom 1968. At the time this interesting double exposure of Morrison came out, there were no liscensing laws set up to protect The Doors / Jim's image. These small hippy-type art company production posters were usually made in small numbers for sale through local outlets only. They are very sought after. The photo was taken by Chris Longueuiel / Atropos. This warehouse find won't last long! In the past these same posters have sold for close to $100! Get yours now! Cond: M
