Des Moines, IA -Sept 27, 1967-
The show that no one remembers. Author Greg Shaw was at a loss to find anything about this show except that it did happen...and there were atleast 100-150 unsold tickets for ths show or we wouldn't have these for sale.
Youths in Des Moines were exploring the soon to be torn down walls of the KRNT Theater when they stumbled upon a back entrance to a storage room. Inside they found several thousand unsold tickets in drawers all along the walls - all were for different shows through out the ancient theater's existance. By flashlight they sorted through the sea of tickets in the cold basement. The Doors were the only band that they recognized. As their flashlights grew dimmer, they stuffed their pockets with every Doors ticket they could find. The next morning they returned with new batteries in hand, only to find the wrecking crews had leveled the storage area where they had been the day before.

The mother load of these were sold off several years ago. Every so often one will turn up for sale, but not too much anymore.
