As above, because we have higher than normal standards for accepting autographs, we don't get too many Jim Morrison signatures in, especially with excellent provenance. This signature was signed on a piece of note paper. That was the only thing available when the current owner met Jim Morrison at the American Airlines Terminal in Chicago's O'Hare Airport back in May, 1968. Here's a little bit of her provenance letter below. The entire letter can be seen by clicking on the 2nd link below:
The airport was nearly empty and I was alone in the small shop filling the gum and candy counter and I look up to see a small, slight, long-curly-haired man slip into the book section.
Oh, my gosh! It's Jim Morrison of the Doors!
I was 17 and knew who he was. I got up enough courage while he was looking at our book-rack to ask him for an autograph. He was quiet, seemed a lot smaller than I thought, and not carrying any luggage. He looked up, smiled at me, asked me my name and took the paper and pen I had offered and politely, quietly gave me his autograph.

'The Doors' S/T Gold LP Record Plaque (20"x24")

This was the first experimental plaque that The Doors put together with the California Gold Company. It was limited in production to only 500 numbered pieces - this one is #51. The edition sold out in (pardon the pun) record time thereby leading to the other record plaque releases over the yeras. These to have all been sold out, but none were limited to such low numbers as this one was. The Doors Collectors Magazine is proud to have helped in production of this plaque by providing the original gold label LP Doors album which was scanned and used for the record label in these releases. Each of these plaques contain a 24 kt gold plated LP record, a small facsimile of the the Doors first album cover, a matted card which is hand signed by the three surviving Doors (as well as a facsimile of Jim Morrison's signature), and a gold plate which states the edition number. They are officially released by The Doors and have become very rare since they sold out - especially since this was the only release with the signatures and 'The Doors' logo etched across the front glass. This was the actual set list that Robby and his band played from at an Atlanta, A show in the late 1990s. It was grabbed up and signed after the show by Robby for the owner and his wife...unfortunately the paper got crossed between them and ended up being signed twice - once to David and another time to Robbin. It was once folded into 1/8ths so the paper would fit into a pocket on the trek home, but has since been laid flat and is ready for framing. It comes complete with our certificate of authenticity.
