Nick Schaffner has done a superb job of sharing his personal love for the Beatles from both an objective and subjective standpoint. Not only does he make personal references in regards to the Beatles, but he also details the history of the band and the recordings they had released up until this book was published. There isn't a Beatles book around that contains the enthusiasm, accessibility, and dramatic style that his does. It is free from alot of the self-proclaimed importance of many other Beatles works, and yet it doesn't advertise itself as anything more than a devoted fan tribute. Cond: Exc+. |

A very interesting book about John Lennon as a family man. His sister Julia tells all the truth about the relationships between John and his mother, his stepfather, his little sisters, the tragedy when their mother was killed by a drunk policeman, and the beginnings of the group that four years later became the greatest phenomenon of the popular music, The Beatles. Also, Julia remembers for us, the phone conversations with him in the late 70s, close to his death, and the feelings of all family when John was tragically killed by the gun of a man who was, ironically, a Beatles fan. A great book!

Most biographies of John Lennon portray Yoko Ono as cold and manipulative...and Hopkins (co-author of No One Here Gets Out Alive) describes many incidents that support that point of view. However, his even-handed account of Ono's life shows other qualities, as wellsome endearing, some puzzling. Ono's Japanese childhood, which spanned World War II and included both enormous wealth and extreme poverty, is intriguing, as is her evolution from Sarah Lawrence student to avant-garde artist to pop star. Hopkins interviewed many insiders in order to expand on or correct tales told by other Lennon-Ono biographers and sometimes by John and Yoko themselves. He recounts some of the bizarre events that have occurred since Lennon's death, as well as outlandish behavior from the couple's years together. A complex, inconclusive, and sometimes sensational portrait.

This coin was sold on a subscription basis from the Chicagoland Processing Corporation between 1990 and 1994 and is officially licensed by Apple Corps. It weighs 1 troy ounce of .999 silver and measures 1½" in diameter. The coin has the artwork on one side and the classic band 'drumskin' logo and number on the reverse. This one is #1575 of a limited edition of 10,000. The coin is contained in a clear plastic covers inside 4" x 6" embossed grey suede effect cases including numbered illustrated booklets with notes on the making of the albums. Very cool! Cond: Exc.

Peppers Vegetarian Combo Salad, Mister Kit's Special Sundae, The Yellow Submarine, Lovely Rita's American Cheesecake, Lady Mint Madonna,and Strawberry Fields Sorbet.
