Greetings from Paris! I wish you could all be here to celebrate the life of Jim Morrison with us! ...and alot of you are! There is so much going on... Jim Morrison started it all and now 40 years after his passing, thousands of people from all over the World have made this pilgrimage to one of the most beautiful cities in the Europe on Jim's behalf. A quote from Tarn Stephanos' most excellent articles, A Sojourn in Paris explains how I feel:
In the case of individuals like John F. Kennedy, Benjamin Franklin, Elvis Presley or Jim Morrison, a visit to their graves affords close physical proximity to their earthly bodies which can have an effect that touches one on the spiritual level. Normally the teaching of The Doors involves an inner spiritual journey in which the outer bodily husk is not a necessary participant, but a physical visit to Jim's grave is very much conducive to a spiritual connection to the Word Man.
I can tell you I feel it and so do the others around me. It's really a beautiful feeling!
Be sure to check out The DCM facebook page by clicking the link at the bottom for a photo gallery that I am slowly building on the less than desirable internet connection here. For 3D photos of the events, please see our offer below.
We have something very cool that warranted this newsletter being sent off on this special day of remembrance. It's a greatly expanded article taken originally from our 1999 DCM Annual by Janet Erwin, where she reveals through her memoirs a fascinating tale. Please grab your choice of drink, click on the banner below, sit back and enjoy....
Happy July 3rd! Thanks Jim!
